Lorenzo Triburgo &
Sarah Van Dyck

Van Burgo Collective is the collaborative practice of artists Sarah Van Dyck and Lorenzo Triburgo, whose durational, time-based work bridges performance, lens-based arts, audio, and installation to explore queer and trans futurity, inspired by queer visual art activism using NYC as a site of political disruption.

Their work is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, and select exhibition venues include the Bronx Museum of the Arts, NY; SE Museum of Photography, FL; SPRING/BREAK Art Show, NY; Center for Fine Art Photography, CO; Baxter Street/CCNY, NY; Museum of Contemporary Photography, IL. Select publication features include Elephant Magazine, Tagesspiegel, Il Giornale Dell’Arte, Harper’s Bazaar Germany, and Humble Arts foundation. Triburgo and Van Dyck co-authored “Representational Refusal and the Embodiment of Gender Abolition” for GLQ’s special issue, Queer Fire: Liberation and Abolition (Duke, 2022).

Their collaborative exploration of queer sanctuaries was the subject of a feature documentary produced by SoMad Gallery in 2023, and their work is currently on view currently in Glitzer at the Museum für Kunst & Gewerbe Hamburg, Germany (February-October 2025).
